They encountered water at 54', roughly 5gpm Fractures at 180'- nearly fist-sized chunks coming up from ~180-182. H2O increases to 10-15gpm. Inclination at 200': 89.6 degrees Rock is hard and slightly fractured or jointed throughout. Occassional veins of quartz and plag and some green secondary minerals. Depth is 295' at end of day. 1/13 AM: Drillers trip out to fix a clogged hammer bit, then trip back in and drill to casing depth- 415'. Landowners request we not work past 6pm, since the site is adjacent to their house. 1/14 Set and cement 6" casing to 415' _______________________________________________ strain-int mailing list strain-int@pbo.unavco.org http://pbo.unavco.org/mailman/listinfo/strain-int From: Sarah Venator Date: January 17, 2007 12:07:08 PM MST To: Sarah Venator Cc: strain-int@pbo.unavco.org Subject: [strain-int] [B039-drilling] Coffelt drilling, 1-15-1/16 2007 Date: 1/16/07 Site: B039 Coffelt (Weed airport relocated site) Current depth: 589' Lithology: andesite 1/15- MLK Jr Day Drillers let cement set up from the previous evening's cement job, and reconned the next two potential sites. 1/16 am: Drillers pull surface casing 1100: @415' Welded flange onto 6" casing, tripped in with 6" hammer to drill out shoe ~420': Vein of quartz and plagioclase 1530: 20min break for water run. @589' Inclination 88.7 degrees at 589' -Shut down, drain excess water from rig and hoses, drillers off site @1745. _______________________________________________ strain-int mailing list strain-int@pbo.unavco.org http://pbo.unavco.org/mailman/listinfo/strain-int From: Sarah Venator Date: January 18, 2007 10:26:41 AM MST To: Sarah Venator Cc: strain-int@pbo.unavco.org Subject: [strain-int] [B039-drilling] Coffelt drilling, 1/17 2007 Date: 1/17/07 Site: B039 Coffelt (Weed airport relocated site) Current depth: 670' Lithology: andesite 1/17 am: Drillers wait in town for replacement fork lift part 930: Warm up equipment 1045: @589' Rig and equipment thawed out and warmed up; start drilling 1245: @670' Run inclinometer . 88.8 degrees at 670' 1320: Trip out and switch to 6" tricone; trip back in 1545: Pipe is stuck downhole, won't come up or down.
