Lithology- andesite 1600 Slight moisture at ~140'- less than 1 gal/min. Drillers had been drilling with no added water to keep mud down. Start adding water at 160' 1840 @235' Rig off. Shut down for day. Oct 6: 0700 Trip out 0735 Run inclinometer. Inclination: 89.2 degrees at 235', 89.2 degrees at 225'. Trip in. 0810 Drilling. Andesite cuttings have some reddish oxidation, show some fractures 1140 @375' Cuttings are finer, less oxidized starting at 365' 1215 @400' Cuttings are slightly coarser, but no major fracturing evident. Flush hole. 1230 Hole is flushed; trip out. 1300 Take inclination. 88.1 degrees @400', 88.0 degrees @390', 89.9 degrees at surface. Drillers offsite for weekend to get 6" casing. Oct 9: Drillers set 6" casing to 400' Oct 10: Casing is cemented in. Oct 11: AM: drilling through cement and aluminum shoe 1130 Through shoe, drilling in bedrock 1300 @~465' Cuttings become almost brick red weathered 1320 ~480' Cuttings are once again gray, no longer red 1600 @590' Add foamer 1800 @650' Drillers off site Oct 12: 0800 Trip out to run inclinometer Inclination: 87.2 degrees @650'. Trip in with 6" tricone 1020 Drilling 1830 @795' Target depth. Flush hole. Oct 13: Drillers trip out, take inclination. 85.0 degrees at 795', 85.0 degrees at 790', 85.5 degrees at 780'.
